Windship designed for Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) Competition in Refshaleøen, Copenhagen . Exhibited in Design Society in partnership with the Danish Design Centre, Copenhagen, 03.10-07.11.2014 Link: http://landartgenerator.org/LAGI-2014/ http://landartgenerator.org/LAGI-2014/13078035/ Windship is a project located on a pier in Refshaleøen island in Copenhagen’s harbor. Resembling the area’s industrial environment, which has housed a shipyard in its history, the design aims to recall this site-specific atmosphere and “technical landscape”. The design suggests the use of wind energy as a primary source of energy in this location. Although other energy sources such as tidal / wave energy and solar systems can be used in the harbor; it can be estimated that wind energy can be more efficient in long-term planning regarding the area’s small scale environment.
