Competition: LAGI (Land Art Generator Initiative) Refshaleøen, Copenhagen, 2014

Windship designed for  Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) Competition in  Refshaleøen, Copenhagen . Exhibited in  Design Society in partnership with the Danish Design Centre, Copenhagen, 03.10-07.11.2014 Link: http://landartgenerator.org/LAGI-2014/ http://landartgenerator.org/LAGI-2014/13078035/ Windship is a project located on a pier in Refshaleøen island in Copenhagen’s harbor. Resembling the area’s industrial environment, which has housed a shipyard in its history, the design aims to recall this site-specific atmosphere and “technical landscape”. The design suggests the use of wind energy as a primary source of energy in this location. Although other energy sources such as tidal / wave energy and solar systems can be used in the harbor; it can be estimated that wind energy can be more efficient in long-term planning regarding the area’s small scale environment. Besides, regarding city plans on waterfront use of old har...

Competition: To Be Destroyed: A call for ideas, The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA), 2014

Project Description: Unfolding Walls of White Cube is designed for  submission to   Mocca, “To Be Destroyed: A call for ideas” Competition Mocca, “To Be Destroyed: A call for ideas” http://www.archdaily.com/500432/to-be-destroyed-a-call-for-ideas/ Team:  Esen Gökçe Özdamar  Unfolding Walls of White Cube Project Description We plan cities and we design art space. The white cube orientates us through the contrast it forms between the work of art and itself. Deriving from the rhizome term as an anti-structure, this ambiguous project is a suggestion of a nowhere art space. Here, art is understood as overlapping section of possible lives, experiences, paths and thresholds apart from corporatization and dominant curatorial practices. Unfolding Walls of White Cube takes its inspir...

Competition: Posterheroes 4, 2014

Posterheroes 4, International Communication and Social Graphic Art Contest, Plug, Italy, 2014 http://www.posterheroes.org/882-2/?la Submission category: D: TERRITORIAL INTERCONNECTED SYSTEMS Description: Plato one mentioned that “The Gods created certain kinds of beings to replenish our bodies; they are the trees and the plants and the seeds" (Plato, Greek philosopher, (circa 428-347 B.C.). Food brings people and communities together, however the same is for the “non-human” animals, who demonstrate consciousness at different levels compared to ours according to Darwin’s ideas on evolutionary continuity. Eating or consuming dead bodies without the permission or acceptance of the body owners create dead energies and communities. It is not mainly about renewable energies or consumption of world resources; but about the border between human and “non-human” animal rights. There are simple, yet efficient ways to embrace life, e...
