Competition: LAGI (Land Art Generator Initiative) Refshaleøen, Copenhagen, 2014

Windship designed for  Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) Competition in  Refshaleøen, Copenhagen . Resembling the area’s industrial environment, which has housed a shipyard in its history, the design aims to recall this site-specific atmosphere and “technical landscape”. The design suggests the use of wind energy as a primary source of energy in this location. Although other energy sources such as tidal / wave energy and solar systems can be used in the harbor; it can be estimated that wind energy can be more efficient in long-term planning regarding the area’s small scale environment. The white cube orientates us through the contrast it forms between the work of art and itself. In contrast, why don’t we let art emerge and extend in its unique production space and let it shape its space itself? Deriving from the rhizome term as an anti-structure, this ambiguous project is a suggestion of a nowhere art space. Here, art is understood as overlapping section of possible lives, experiences, paths and thresholds apart from corporatization and dominant curatorial practices.
