Exhibition: Tactile Architecture Atlas

The "Tactile Architecture Atlas" exhibition, prepared within the scope of the project titled "Tactile Literacy: An Experimental Architecture Book for the Visually Impaired" (coded NKUBAP.08.ÖNAP.25.636) conducted by Architecture Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Esen Gökçe ÖZDAMAR, was presented to visitors at the Tekirdağ Chamber of Architects on December 8, 2025.  The "Tactile Architecture Atlas" exhibition, developed under the project "Tactile Literacy: An Experimental Architecture Book for the Visually Impaired" (code NKUBAP.08.ÖNAP.25.636), directed by Prof. Dr. Esen Gökçe Özdamarwas showcased to the public at the Tekirdağ Chamber of Architects on December 8, 2025. Book: Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront

  Within the framework of the Erasmus + KA171 project carried out between Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University and Albania Barleti University, an event titled “Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront” was held between July 3–6, 2023, in Tekirdağ, Türkiye. The proceedings of the charrette conducted in collaboration with Universiteti Barleti and Tekirdağ Namık Kemal Üniversitesi  and organized in coordination with İstanbul Arel Üniversitesi  in 2023, funded by the Erasmus + KA 171 project, have just been published.  The book, which was carried out with great effort, aims to highlight the importance of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches in addressing the challenges and opportunities in the coastal areas of Tekirdağ and to encourage collaboration between local administrators, policymakers, and various stakeholders in shaping the future development of this strategic coastal city. Design from Rural to Urban: Transformation of Agricultural Waste in Local Context, Marmara Municipalities Union MARUF on the Go 2023 Side Event

A workshop titled "Design from Rural to Urban: Transformation of Agricultural Waste in Local Context" was held as a side event to the Marmara Municipalities Union Maruf on the Go 2023 event. The workshop was held on September 26-28, 2023 at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University GSTMF. A working group consisting of agricultural engineers, architects, urban planners, sociologists, designers, civil engineers, forest industrial engineers and farmers will develop design ideas together with the students after various presentations in the workshop for the utilization of the wastes of sunflower grown in Tekirdağ in urban areas. It aims to transform Freshkills Park in New York into a new recreation area based on the interaction between man and nature within innovative and up-to-date energy systems. The project aims to build a natural space and provide a place in the park for perceivers and travelers to come together and think about nature.   Competition: Socio Design Foundation, Social Vignette Competition, "Breaking From Plato’s" Cave, USA 2011, Honorable mention, USA, 09.01.2012 Plato’s allegory of the cave can be taken as an example for Istanbul dwellers. This allegory can be represented through intertwined building layers in urban space. Against these boundary layers, Escape from Plato's Cave is proposed as a metaphor for constructing an alternative strategy to change our perception of rapid construction in urban space. In order to break the boundaries between the ideal world and the real world, there can be an escape by playing with the shown reality, by developing a holistic approach and a non-schismogenic artistic intervention. At the exit from Plato's cave, a way is sought to destroy this ‘reality’ perceived by many people as it needs to be, through play and active participation.
