Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront (03-06.07.2023)

Within the framework of the Erasmus + KA171 project carried out between Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University and Albania Barleti University, an event titled “Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront” will be held between July 3–6, 2023, in Tekirdağ, Türkiye. The event will be carried out jointly with the faculty members from Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, Barleti University, and Istanbul Arel University. The charrette which consists of design discussions, juries, and critics, aims to bring together experts, designers, and students from different disciplines with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches, and to develop concrete design and application proposals within the framework of the "accessibility" theme on the waterfront of Tekirdağ. The charrette discusses the access of Tekirdağ waterfront within the framework of the keywords of walkability, inclusivity, disaster, and climate as a first step towards bringing designers, local administrators, and policymakers together. The event will be held at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University and the Tekirdağ Chamber of Architects. The face-to-face event, which washeld in English, was open to everyone's participation, and faculty members who want to actively participate in the design, discussion, and production event.

Book: Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront

Within the framework of the Erasmus + KA171 project carried out between Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University and Albania Barleti University, an event titled “Tekirdağ Design Charrette: Scenarios for Waterfront” was held between July 3–6, 2023, in Tekirdağ, Türkiye. The proceedings of the charrette conducted in collaboration with Universiteti Barleti and Tekirdağ Namık Kemal Üniversitesi and organized in coordination with İstanbul Arel Üniversitesi in 2023, funded by the Erasmus + KA 171 project, have just been published. The book, which was carried out with great effort, aims to highlight the importance of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches in addressing the challenges and opportunities in the coastal areas of Tekirdağ and to encourage collaboration between local administrators, policymakers, and various stakeholders in shaping the future development of this strategic coastal city.
